FC Barcelona Fan Token (BAR) is a utility token that provides Barcelona Football Club (“Barcelona) fans with a tokenized share of participation in club decisions through the use of Socios’ apps and services.
Socios is a blockchain-based fan engagement and rewards platform for the sports and entertainment industry powered by Chiliz.

BAR is a functional token built on Chiliz Chain (Chiliz Chain is a Proof-of-Authority side chain based on Ethereum). BAR is mainly used for the following:
Governance: BAR holders can vote on various binding "fan decisions" issued by Barcelona via smart contracts.
Rewards: BAR holders can participate in activities on Socios to earn rewards.
Token Staking: In the future, BAR can be staked to earn Non-Fungible Token (NFT) rewards.

The total token supply of BAR is 40,000,000, of which 600,000 were initially allocated to fans through the Fan Token Offering. The remaining tokens are held by Barcelona and can be earned by fans by participating in community events and buying directly on exchanges.
